What do the winter holidays mean to you?
To me, they mean family—and eating incredible food.
I was born in New Orleans, and every Christmas my mother made the biggest pot of gumbo you could imagine. The kind that filled the whole house with warmth and spice. The kind you waited all year for. That smell. That anticipation. You just knew you were about to eat the best meal of the year.
That feeling stayed with me. It pushed me to learn how to make it myself. And now, after years of baking and building this dream, I’ve found a way to bring both halves of my world together.
This loaf is a tribute to where I come from and where we’re going.
